Participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities encourages personal accomplishment and the development of interpersonal skills.  There are many opportunities for children to become involved at Sacred Heart.

Youth Ministry

edge.jpg

EDGE is an international Catholic middle school youth ministry program created for youth in grades six, seven, and eight. EDGE is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents.

EDGE describes how, in many respects, middle school kids are on the edge because so much is going on in their lives physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. It can be a very stressful and difficult time for them and their parents.

As a Catholic Community, we give our middle school youth an opportunity to learn about Jesus, The Word, The Eucharist, and The Church in a fun and interactive manner with their peers and CORE team leaders every Monday night from 7-8:30. All 6/7/8 graders are welcome from any parish or school and are encouraged to bring their friends.

Totus Tuus is a Catholic summer youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic Faith through catechesis, evangelization, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. This week long Parish Summer Catechetical Program assists parents and parishes in the evangelizing and catechizing of their youth by supplementing the work they are currently doing.

Fully trained youth missionaries (college students and seminarians) bring a fun and exciting format full of skits, teaching and learning, games, and much more. Totus Tuus is located in parishes across the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the country.

The Troops of Saint George apostolate uses outdoors activities, fellowship, and the sacraments as the path to light the way for the formation of Holy Catholic men and boys. Monthly events such as camp outs, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and group prayer foster an environment where Fathers and sons can take a prayerful pilgrimage together to fulfill Christ's desire for them to grow in virtue and in their Holy Catholic faith as they journey toward heaven.

Little Flowers Girls’ Club is a Fun, Flexible, Faith-filled, Catholic Club for girls! Little Flowers Girls’ is a Catholic group for girls ages 5 and up that teaches virtues through scripture, biographies of the saints, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Based on the 1905 Catholic classic The Catholic Girls’ Guide by Fr. F.X. Lasance, and the spirituality of St. Thérèse, the Little Flower of Lisieux. The Little Flowers Girls’ Club program consists of four levels of study: Wreaths I, II, II, IV each covering virtues, saints, and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Girls can earn badges for the virtues they have practiced and life skills they have learned. The club meets right after school on the first Tuesday of the month during the school year. All girls of the parish are welcome.
